The Mr Babache Pro Torch has been introduced to compete with the Henry's Nite Flite, and it's come out screaming.
This torch boasts innovative features that really stand it apart from the rest.
The construction is solid. The handle is built around a strong aluminum tube containing a hardwood dowel and as on all good torches, and features the air cushion padding to protect your hands from those mighty throws. The solid body is decorated with sparkly metallic looking deco paper and fits very snugly against the heat shield.
The heat shield is fixed into place with no less than five stainless bolts and really looks the business.
Now for the clever bits: most torches vary in weight slightly throughout their life as paraffin leaks down the shaft, under the heat shield and into the dowel. The Babache Pro has a fuel proof seal located between the shield and shaft ensuring your torches weight the same when new or after years of use.
Babache have also added a triple bash guard (making the usual single rubber ring look quite feeble in comparison) to the body. This serves two purposes: Obviously the bash guard protects the torch from heavy impacts on concrete and other hard surfaces, but it also minimizes the flow of fuel on the outside of the torch, over the body and onto the handle. Clever eh?
The Babache Pro feels great to juggle. The balance is great and the weight about average. The torch is a little shorter than most making it feel much snappier than other torches. This is great for numbers juggling and fast tricks but less suited to slow graceful moves.
Each torch is equipped with 50cm of 50mm wide reinforced fire wick to ensure you get a good flame size for a good few minutes. This is possibly the best juggling torch around.
