BJC 2014 - Up in the Air

BJC 2014

THIS STORY IS NOW OUT OF DATE. For a confirmation of the venue and theme for the BJC 2014 please see here.

The British Juggling Convention 2013 was a success (review to follow shortly) but unfortunately an organising team for 2014 has yet to come forward. The question "where will the BJC 2014 will be held?" is still up in the air and without an answer.

The minutes of the business meeting held at the end of this year’s convention seem positive despite the lack of venue for next year. A suggestion of holding the BJC in Barnard Castle was put forward but without a core team to actually organise it. I can already hear Southerners groaning about another trip north but you know how you could avoid it…

The minutes also mention a possible return to the Harvey Hadden centre in Nottingham or the Doncaster Dome. Noises were also made about moving the BJC to a more summery time of year, echoing a lot of the talk around the site given the cold weather this year. However, it was mentioned that Easter is good for children (though so is the summer…) and that a summer BJC in 2014 might affect attendance given the EJC is in Ireland in the summer of 2014.

Are you interested in running a BJC or being part of the team? It’s strongly recommended that you help organise a BJC before taking on the overall responsibility for running the convention. Anyone interested should get in contact with Jane Randall via Facebook.
