On the 25th June 2015 a group of 30 aerialists broke the Guinness World Record for most number of people performng aerial silks. The performance toook place in London, UK, as part of the 25th anniversary of international consultancy and construction company, Mace. The company, famous for building The Shard and delivering the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, brought together a hand-picked team of top professional aerial performers from all over the world to form the “Mace Spirit of Adventure” aerial performance team.
The five minute routine was choreographed by Desiree Kongerod from An Act Above, a performance company specialising in aerial silks. It is hoped that this world record will help raise the profile of aerial arts even further.
