An excellent DVD for those new to aerial silks and tissus. This DVD is very well-structured with an interactive menu so is easy to navigate. Starting from the very beginning this DVD provides instructions on how to rig your silk as well as the mathematics of how to work out the load bearing weight of your rig.
Demonstrating seven warm up exercises, four climbs and descents and four figures, this DVD is slower paced than the Nimble Arts DVD but more technical and has more in depth instruction. It is less entertaining than the Nimble Arts DVD and the dubbing is not perfect but we found Fred's DVD more useful as a learning tool.
Please note: this DVD will only play on a PAL format Multi-region DVD player.
What the Blurb Says:
Fred Deb' has continuously reflected upon her artistic and pedagogical process throughout her career as an international aerial performing artist and teacher. She has developed a method for teaching and learning the technique and artistry of aerial fabric.
In this first DVD, which captures the atmosphere of a class, you will find a chapter on safety, warm-up exercises in the fabric, a presentation of different climbs and descents, some basic figures which can be used to create sequences, and some choreographic ideas which further develop different parts of the class.
"My goal was not to create a repertory of existing figures in aerial fabric, but to offer to all a flexible working method which is specific to this unique and fascinating aerial diskipline.
I strongly recommend that you remain vigilant in your aerial practice, and that you comply with all safety rules and instructions. Enjoy" Fred Deb'
